What is the Encouragement Campaignpauletteharper

It is 21 days of Hope, Inspiration & Solutions, just like the mission of our weekly radio show.

Many people don’t know where to turn in the midst of their storm. We tell them to read the Bible, and that’s what they need to do, but where do they go in the Bible? I can remember when I would go to the bible and it was just words. I didn’t know where to go nor what story or scriptures to read. It was just “Thou, Art ,begat, Mennonites,” and many other words I didn’t understand nor could pronounce. ~ Nicole Cleveland, Founder of Breathe Again Magazine

For 21 days you will hear from men and women of faith that have gone from victim to VICTORIOUS !
They will share how they survived and what encouraged them to keep going.

Scripture:  I Samuel 30:8B “Without fail you shall recover all”

I realize we are living in some rough times. Many people are facing challenges that they have never known before and walking into territory that may be unfamiliar to them. And of course many have lost things in the process. Nevertheless, God’s word is true because we have a covenant with God; He has promised that there shall be a day of recovery. So I would tell anyone, “take God at His word and trust that you shall recover everything that was taken from you.” During these rough economic times, it is God who will stabilize us and cause us to increase, prosper and propel in the worst conditions. The world is in a major crisis, and the pressure is even on us to compromise our faith, but we must remember as the children of Israel grew under pressure, hardship and oppression, we too will grow, multiply and increase, as long as we believe by faith that God will see us through.

Encouragement: I really believe that better days are ahead for the believer who will not be moved, swayed or quit. We must forge ahead knowing that God is in control.

Scripture: Ecclesiastes 9:4 Anyone who is among the living has hope–even a live dog is better off than a dead lion! (NIV)

The above scripture resonates with my spirit because hope is a powerful force that has kept me clean and sober for twenty plus years. I am known for my trade mark saying “As Long As There Is Breath In Your Body, There Is Hope” and that is also the title of my signature book. When I reflect on the things that I went through and the darkness that was present in my life I see hope as light in the midst of darkness. Hope will point the way to a brighter future as long as you stick around to see what the end is going to be. Hope has tremendous power and energy to guide us through the tough times in life. Hope is what is keeping me now during these trying times of transition and uncertainty. I have to keep hope ever before me to know that tomorrow will be brighter than whatever I am facing right now. I am that “living dog” with a living testimony!

Encouragement: No matter how dark it may be in your life right now look for the light of hope to shine through. It may come in the form of a smile from a friend or loved one, it may come with the flutter of the wings of a butterfly, or it may come from a cool breeze on a hot Summer’s day. Where ever it comes from just know that it is a gift from God sent to let you know that everything is going to be alright if you just keep the Faith and Hope burning bright!

Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11 “I know the plans I have for you, plans of good, not evil, that you may have an expected [hope] end.”

I remember clearly the emotions I was feeling when I transitioned from one home to the next. It was a very depressing time. As a parent, you don’t ever want to see your kids suffer. It hurts you to the core of your being to know the hurt was at your hand. Mismanagement, poor decisions, financial irresponsibility put us (married then) in a position of not knowing where we were going to live. My baby wanted to go to the only place she knew, home.

After weeping and depression, my sister in law told me “I’ve been where you are. You are not a failure. God is not angry with you, He will see you through this.” Her words blessed me. I remember reading Romans 5 and the scripture that said “trial and tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed.” I understood everything was going to work out for my good, it was not my end and not where God wanted me to be.

I learned through adversity that “God will never leave me nor forsake me.” My daughter said, “mommy, when are we going to get our own house?” I said, “when God says it’s time.” Eventually, I was sitting in a leasing office, the consultant said, “I don’t see a problem; you just need somebody to give you a second chance.” I asked, “can anyone veto you?” She said “no.” I began to worship Him in her office. I told my daughter, God said it’s time!

Scripture: Mark 11:24 – For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. AMP

So many times I have thought that the things I ask for were too small for God to handle. Things like the money to have my hair and nails done or something much larger, like the money to pay for a new vehicle.

There have been many times where I thought to myself, ” I’m only one person in this gigantic world. How is it possible for God to see my needs and wants and help me to get them?”  For the longest time I thought to myself I won’t have them because it’s just not possible.

Then a few weeks ago I was in church and our associate pastor was giving us our thought for the week and this is the verse she shared with us. She told a story about how she was first starting in real state and her husband was working a job that didn’t pay much. She wasn’t sure how they were going to make ends meet each month. So each week she would pray for enough money to cover the bills. It wasn’t until a few months had gone by that this verse was placed in front of her and she realized why it was happening. She knew all along it was God, but she didn’t know why until she read Mark 11:24.

Since then that verse has helped me in so many ways including the money to pay for a new vehicle and to cover the taxes and plates. I stopped being afraid to ask and I’ve prayed for whatever my needs are and God has given them to me. It’s a true blessing.

Encouragement:  If you’re suffering or hurting for some reason, read Mark 11:24 and know that you can ask God for anything. It doesn’t matter if you need a way to get out of your current job or to get out of a relationship that’s hurting you, when you trust this verse, it will happen.

Scripture:  Warning Against Falling Away – Hebrews 5:11-14

We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand.  In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!  Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

This is one of the scriptures that rings in my spirit quite often.  From the very beginning of my journey with Christ, I’ve never wanted to “play with this.”  I asked God to make His word clear to me according to what He desired for “me” to know about His Word.  God’s Word is above everything in my life, in other words, I can’t fix it to satisfy a situation, I can’t use it to manipulate my way out of anything, I can’t justify a situation to make it “sound” good.  It is… God’s Word, His instructions to live a purposed assigned life before Him.

In summary, I read God’s Word for instruction, even when it slaps me in my face!  Even when it’s my spanking so to speak, even when He lets me know, “I see you.”  When He knows that we know, that He knows we know… this scripture reminds me that nothing is unknown to Him or us when He answers our prayers of cry.  When we’re in the middle of a storm, He hears our pleas and when we know better, because we’ve read and studied His word, there is no excuse — only the one we choose.  I share this with you to let you know… sometimes it’s not okay to tuck and run, why?  Because God knows He’s equipped us with His Word and the constant intercession by the Holy Spirit.

Encouragement:  When my husband, my best friend and the man I loved to life, passed away, God’s Word “kept” me.  When you seek the truth, He is faithful to show up! When you study to show yourself approved, rightly dividing the Word of truth (ref: 2 Tim 2:15), God will provide revelation knowledge for a complete understanding of His word according to YOUR situation.  Walk in confidence and constantly declare the Word of God over your life and your family and watch God’s promises show up specifically for you.  Remain in faith that, “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

Scripture: I have encountered many scriptures that have blessed, elevated and transformed my life, but one particular one is Jeremiah 29:11, FOR I KNOW THE THOUGHT THAT I HAVE TOWARDS YOU, THOUGHTS OF GOOD AND NOT OF EVIL; TO GIVE YOU AN EXPECTED END. This particular scripture gets me going, no matter the challenges I encounter

Encouragement:  While there’s life, there’s hope. Ecclesiastes 9:4 says ”To him that is joined to the living there is hope; for a living dog is better than a dead lion”. No matter what a person has done against God and against himself or herself, there’s still great hope for the person as far as he/she has breath.

Song: Dominion by Jason Nelson

http://youtu.be/NpFBMMFKrIU

I first heard this song just a couple weeks ago when I was going through a rough time. I was overwhelmed with life. I had just lost a family member unexpectedly and was experiencing some health challenges of my own, therefore I was in a vulnerable position.

My present circumstances were not lining up with what God promised me. I believed God was going to pull me through but it appeared fear had the upper hand and I was allowing the enemy to win until I listened to this song. I had it on my ipod for months but had never listened to it. The Lord had prophetically set it up this way because He knew the exact moment of my breakthrough. The words reminded me that I had dominion over the situation, over my emotions, over the enemy. I had to declare it with my mouth and walk in the authority God had given me.

Yokes were destroyed off of me that morning and I was able to move forward in confidence once again no longer paralyzed by fear.

Encouragement:  I want to encourage someone today who feels like they have to accept the feelings of depression and defeat that have accompanied the unfortunate events and circumstances in your life. It does not have dominion over you. It does not have the power to take you out unless you give it permission. Please know that God has already declared you a winner; agree with what He has spoken. You Win!!!!

Scripture: Isaiah 43:19 – “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth, shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the dessert.”

“Right Now Blessing”

  • Are you stuck in your problem or bad situation?
  • Do you feel there is no way out?
  • Do you need a “right now blessing?

I know how you feel. I felt that same way before I discovered this powerful word from the Lord.

Twelve years ago I was stuck in a bad marriage that lead to separation and “near divorce.” I faced more pain and hurt then I ever could’ve imagined. Through that situation I learned to let go and let God. As soon as I let go God stepped in and did a Right Now Blessing for me and I know he will do the same for you. He will do it right where you are!
Read and re-read Isaiah 43:19 and discover how God has power to do the impossible in the middle of a horrible thing! No matter how messed up things might be, God can do something so great for you. I’m now on my way to 23 years of marriage!

Encouragement: Is God waiting for you to let go so that he can give you a Right Now Blessing? Many times that is the case. See, God has already planned a way of success for you but your plans and the enemy’s plans are stopping His plans from manifesting in your life.

So, just remember let go of your storm and grab hold of his blessing. He wants to do it right now. Will you let go right now? I sure hope so! Remember, God has a “Right Now Blessing” waiting for you!

Scripture or Song : Genesis 1:26-27

At one time I was in a place of self-abasement. I didn’t love myself and I felt worthless. I’d been sexually abused and began to despise being a girl. One day I was studying creation and when I got to verses 26-27 “it” rang clear to me that God created man, (me), in His, (God’s), image; an image of love, peace, joy, kindness and a host of other amazingly beautiful qualities. Therefore, I am worth something…a lot actually and I love who I am. I was created worthy.

Encouragement: Look in the mirror at God’s beautiful creation. Know this from within. You were created in the image of God!
